We’re releasing an open-source CloudFormation template to deploy a WP2Static-based WordPress instance on any AWS account. The server shuts down when not in use, and starts automatically on demand, to minimize cost and take full advantage of the AWS Free Tier. The static site is served by S3 and CloudFront for best-in-class performance.
I wrote a tutorial on the deployment steps, but let me know if anything is unclear or if you run into any problems. Coming next: Tutorials on setting up custom domains on AWS, and on deleting a stack (AWS makes you prove to it that you really want to delete something).
